Marine Muds
Marine mud is formed when the organic compounds in marine flora and fauna mix with the breakdown of marine and alluvial soils (sand and rocks) deposited by oceans and rivers. The mechanism of action on the skin depends on the penetration of marine ions combined with the thermoplastic properties of marine mud. The numerous trace elements found in marine mud, including sulphur and zinc, possess proven therapeutic qualities.
Marine Mud is a major treatment in thalassotherapy (European marine spa therapy), where it has been used for many years in fangotherapy (rheumatology, osteoarthritis, functional re-education). It can also be used as a purifying facial mask.
